Katelyn LOVES the water, so today we took her to the pool for the first time since she was tiny. She had a great time. She was all over the place swimming and checking things out. We will be visiting the pool lots more this summer I am sure.

Finally a good weekend at the race track!
After a rough year or so racing, things finally seem to be falling into place! Its about time. Chris and Jim have been working so hard to get the Corvette to fun again. Well this weekend, everything was working great. Chris was in the zone and despite the full moon, had a little bit of luck with him. We drove to State Capitol Raceway (Baton Rouge, LA) on Friday morning so that Chris could finish a race that was rained out in mid-April. There were only 7 cars and 3 rounds left. Well...as luck would have it, he WON! It was his first ever IHRA win and Ironman (the trophy). It was great to see him back in the winners circle and even better that we could share that with Katelyn for the first time. She hung out for winners circle pictures and even held up a #1 sign for the picture. It was great!
Saturday was the start of a whole new race. Chris was still on a high from Friday night, but was in the zone! Everything was falling into place. He car was on! After a long day, we made it to the final! WOW...we could not believe it. Its been 2 years since he last won and now there was the possibility he could win twice in the same weekend. We were thrilled. He ended up losing a very good race to take Runner-Up. Can't complain about that too much especially since the final was a hard fought race. So, back to the winners circle we went for pictures. Again, Katelyn was a champ and hung in there. It was so past her bed time, but she was going strong with all of the comotion. We finally get her in bed around 12 and around 1:30am we were able to lay down for the night. It was sooooo worth it!
Thank goodness for the long weekend. It was a great weekend, but we are all exhausted today. I am ready for next weekend because its the first in a while were we do not have anything planned! It will be nice to relax.

Playing in the Coke wagon. That wagon was made for me by my Papa. It has the initials KC carved on it. My mom brought it to Katelyn this weekend and she LOVES it.
Katelyn loves oreos...think she gets that from her Papa
She and Haley are more alike than one might think...
So happy with the marigold flowers
Houston Zoo & Kemah
So much fun....
Jill, Mark, Luke, and Kailyn were in town to visit Jill's parents this past week. I love when they come visit cause that means I get to see them. Its even more fun now since the girls are so close in age. So this year, we planned a visit to the zoo and Kemah! It was tons of fun. There are too many pictures to post, so here is the link for the web album. All of the kids had a blast and so did the parents.

New Car for me!
Yippie for me...I finally got my big SUV. Althought I had my heart set on a Toyota Sequoia, we ended up getting a Nissan Armada and I love it! Its maroon with black leather (not as bad as you would think). Chris is even letting me get A&M license plates.
Another surgery...
As most of you know, shortly after Katelyn got her first set of tubes, the left one fell out. We were hoping that she would do great without it, but luck was not on our side. She got 2 back to back ear infections in April and that was that. We were headed back into surgery and her ENT wanted to go ahead and take her adenoids out this time as well. Not exactly the plan we had, but whatever it takes to help her get well and stay well is what we had to do. So, last Wednesday, we headed back to Texas Childrens Hospital. As usual, the people there were wonderful and Katelyn did great. She played and played before surgery. After surgery she woke up with no tears! She was the only one not crying in recovery. Needless to say...shes a super star. We hope this will keep her well from here on out. So far, so good!

RC Car Track
Katelyn and I joined Chris for some family time at the RC Car track on Friday after dinner. It was not crowded, so Katelyn was free to roam. She enjoyed watching the cars go around the track, playing in the dirt and rocks, and climbing the stairs.
Too cute
As most everyone knows, we are still battling ear infections. Well, Tuesday morning when I was getting Katelyn dressed I discovered she was running a fever yet again. That meant staying home from school/work. She was feeling so so, but looked adorable!
