At the Nutcracker Market, we tried (and bought) a wonderful dessert called Texas Trash. It was so good, I think we finished the bag that same night. Being the bakery chefs we are, we attempted to make to make it. Surprisingly enough, it turned out great. I am sure there are many variations out there, but ours has been named Aggie Trash! Here is the recipe:
Aggie Trash
Ingredients:
3-4 cups corn chex
3-4 cups rice chex
3-4 cups Quaker oatmeal squares
3-4 cups pretzel sticks
2-3 cups salted nuts (optional)
1- 24 ounce package white chocolate bark (chopped or sliced)
3/4-1 cup powdered sugar
Directions:
In large bowl, combine all ingredients EXCEPT white chocolate and powdered sugar. Heat white chocolate in double broiler pan until melted. Pour melted chocolate into cereal mixture and stir until completely coated. Spread on cookie sheet or pan with wax paper. Put in refrigerator for 10-15 min until chocolate is hard. Break apart and mix with powdered sugar in a gallon size Ziploc bag.
Makes 4 quart size bags
Notes:
1. If adding nuts, make sure they are salted
2. Pretzel sticks work better than regular pretzel braids
3. Other options:
a. Wheat Chex
b. Cheerios
c. Golden Grahams
