15 Month Checkup
At 15 months Katelyn is 32.5 inches tall (95%) and 23 lbs (55%). Shes tall and thin just like her mama, but has a long torso and short legs just like her daddy!
Too sweet
The skeeters are HORRIBLE this summer! Poor Katelyn, she knows all too well how bad they are. After a family walk last night, we got home to find yet another bite around her eye. Last weekend she had a swollen eye because of a bite. This morning, Chris called to tell me that her eye is swollen again. When he picked her up, it was almost swollen shut. Guess that means shes just too sweet!

Rescheduled Vacation to Shelbyville
After alot of planning and bumps in the road, we had to reschedule our trip to Shelbyville. Last week, we thought we were going to have to push it a day or so because of a meeting Chris needed to be at for work. Well, we cleared that hurdle and were back on track until Sunday. On Sunday, Mark's (Jill's husband) Grandma Lingle passed away. We are very sad for his family's loss and will be sending our thoughts their way this weekend and they lay her to rest on Friday. To give them some family time as well as some time to rest, we decided it would be best to push the trip back a few weeks. Total bummer, but at least we still get to go in 3 weeks!

1st Visit to College Station
My cousins Stephanie and Maddie were in a basketball tournament in College Station this past weekend and we took the opportunity to take Katelyn to Aggieland for the first time to watch some basketball. Even though she was being a diva, we still had a great time with Judy and the girls (and Megan) and driving around College Station reminiscing about our college years. We stopped by the Civil Engineering building to see if our pictures were up yet (they werent in 2007 when we were there) and sure enough they are! It was coold to show Allison our pictures and around our old stomping ground. Since we were there to watch basketball and it was blazing hot outside, we didnt do much picture taking on campus. Guess that just means we will have to go back soon. We couldnt leave without hitting up freebirds for lunch and Post Oak Mall for some new Aggie gear!
14 Month Pictures
Here's the link to Katelyn's 14 Month pictures! We had a very busy 14th Month with racing, a visit to Schlitterbahn, 4th of July in Austin with family and friends, and her first pig tails! Enjoy!

9 days....
....until we are in Shelbyville visiting Mark, Jill, Luke and Kailyn! We are so excited for our fun vacation! Nothing like relaxing on the lake with great friends for a long weekend! It doesn't hurt that we will be relaxing in style on Bob & Pam's new houseboat. Lots of pictures to come for sure!!!
Old Racing Pictures
Jim & Patsy have been going through old pictures and found some great ones from when Jim used to race. The top picture was taken in 1980. The picture of Chris sitting on the side of the trailer was taken in 1982. None of the others have dates. I love looking at old pictures. They have also found some of Chris' baby pictures. I see so much of Chris in Katelyn now that I have looked at more of his baby pictures. Hopefully I can scan and post some of those soon.

Bed time
After 3.5hrs, everything is finally updated! The blog, Katelyn's website, Facebook, emails, etc. Keeping up with technology is exhausting. What a way to spend a Friday evening. Off to bed for me as the princess likes to play in the morning!
Jumping in the pool
Ok, so she doesnt really jump. Its more like sliding, what can I say! Its too cute. She loves it too. Before you even put her down, shes squirming to get back in.

Signing "More"
Katelyn has been learning sign language at her daycare since she started almost a year ago. Although I had great intentions of practicing at home as well, it didnt always happen. Needless to say, when she started signing "more" I was shocked and excited. Now she does it all the time. We have since started to work on "please" and "thank you" as well as some others. Its so amazing how quickly they learn.
Busted up Chin
Notice the busted up chin (looked worse in person)? Katelyn had a rough weekend. After 3 face plants while shopping on Friday to give her a nice purple buise, she triped at the park on Monday and fell against a tree leaving her with scrapes on her chin and cheek. Mom and dad freaked out a little cause there was blood, but after some blanky & binky time, she was good as new.
4th of July Weekend
What a great weekend! We headed to Austin on Thursday for a fun filled weekend. After all of the rain in Houston the week before, we were hoping for some sunny weather. We had a packed weekend!
Friday- As most of you all know, Chris and I have been working on losing weight and getting healthier. Well, in doing so, we have created the need for new clothes. So, on Friday, we headed to the outlet mall to do some shopping. The weather cooperated with us most of the day and so did Katelyn. It did help that Grandma was there to entertain while we shopped. It was at the end of the day, successful!
Saturday- Saturday was for family and friends. We had a BBQ at Mom's house. Mark's daughters, some friends, and Judy & the girls were all there. Katelyn loved all the attention and we had a great time with all the "babysitters" around. After dinner, some of us headed up to watch the neighborhood fireworks show.
Sunday- Happy 4th of July! Sunday morning, Uncle Richard and family stopped by for a quick visit before dropping Daniel off at camp. After they left, we finally were able to get some swimming in. Katelyn LOVES the water. She is a daredevil and is not scared of the water at all. Now, shes even jumping (well sliding really) off the side of the pool. After a good nap (thankfully) we were off to the Round Rock Express game for baseball and fireworks. Katelyn ran around the entire game and loved it. We finally got her to sit still just in time for the fireworks. She loved them.
Monday- We were headed home, but before we did, we squeezed in more water time. There is a fantastic park close to mom's house that has a water play area for kiddos. We will be going back for sure!

Schlitterbahn!!
Oh my...we had so much fun! Before we left, I was thinking we might make it 4hrs if we are lucky. Boy was I wrong. We got there at 10am and left at 6:45pm. Katelyn had a blast. Chris, Mom and I did too. It took her a few min to warm up to everything, but once she did, she wanted to go go go. We did get lucky to get her a 40 min nap right after lunch and during the short rain shower. We will be going back this summer and many more times in the future! Hopefully next summer the Milnes clan can join us for some fun!
Happy Anniversary to us!
Last week Chris and I celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary! We typically keep things low key, so I was not expecting much. Actually, I was going to feel very special if we got to go out to dinner since he had to work late on our anniversary and the weekend was pretty much planned already. Boy was I wrong! After a terrible week, I was so excited to find a balloon with 2 cards in my car the morning of our anniversary. The balloon itself was great. I LOVE balloons. In one card, he told me there was reservations at Killen's (a fantastic steak place by our house) for us on Saturday night. Yummmy! The other card had a Schlitterbahn ticket in it. Yippie! I have been wanting to go for a while and even more so since Katelyn is such a water baby. He had planned for us to go on Sunday. Wow...what a great surprise. Since my mom was in town, she went with us to help out with Katelyn so we could have some fun time together. After Schlitterbahn, we had dinner at one of my favorite places in Galveston. Talk about a great anniversary gift!! Thanks Chris....

Rest in Peace Aunt Mae
My grandma's (Mimi) twin, Aunt Mae, passed away today. Shes been sick for a while, so it really was just a matter of time, but death is never easy. She was a spunky old lady and was very sarcastic. She and my brother were very close. She will be dearly missed, but I find comfort in knowing that she is finally at peace and is keeping my Grandad company. Here are few pictures of her and family...

Ouch....
Well last night was our first softball games and wow am I out of shape! I hurt so bad today. Chris is hurting as well, just not quite as bad as I am. Hopefully with a bit more exercise I will get in better shape and it wont hurt so bad. Regardless, it was lots of fun. We won the first game and got killed the 2nd game, but had fun doing it. I think its going to be a very fun season. I sure does feel good to be playing ball again!

Way to go Chris...
Well, IHRA just updated the points and Chris is tied for 2nd in Division 4! This is the best he has ever done in the points since he began drag racing and if he stays up there, he will get the chance to race for the Division Championship in Richmond, VA at the end of the year (October). Maybe this year his dream of winning a Division Championship will come true!

Softball
So some guys Chris works with decided they were going to get together a coed softball team for LJA (Chris' company). They approched Chris to see if he would like to play and if he knew of any girls that would be interested. He called me right away and asked if I was interested. Of course I said yes. So...we are now part of the LJA coed softball team. We play 2 games every Tuesday night for 6 weeks. After the 6 weeks, there are playoffs. Needless to say, I am beyond excited. Not only is it a form of physical activity at least once a week, but its also interaction with adults outside of work...something we get little of these days. It will be much needed and appreciated.
Last night we pulled down all of our softball equipment. Wow...its been sitting a long time. Thankfully, we have everything we need to get started. Tuesday June 8th is the first game. Hopefully we can get it together to get a couple of wins on our first night! Pictures to come....maybe!
