Blankets and Naps

Katelyn seem to be very into her lovies today.  From the moment she got up, she carried one, sometimes two, around with her.  She is her Mommy's girl!!

After a long day out running errands and seeing Granny, Katelyn was wiped out!  When I got home, this is how I found her in the back seat....sacked out!

Patsy took this picture was taking a couple weeks ago when she was watching Katelyn.  Apparently Katelyn was refusing to nap in her crib, so Patsy took her back downstairs where she proceeded to pass out on her blanket in the middle of the family room.  Too cute not to share.

Good news from the ENT

HECK YEAH!!!  Thats all I have to say about the visit with the ENT.  We went back for a follow up from a couple of weeks ago and things have improved.  There is not more fluid pooling in her ear, so the ear drops worked.  Hopefully now that we have gotten rid of the fluid, her ear drum can heal from where the tube was and things will go back to normal.  We do not have to go back until the 1st week in June unless something comes up.  So, heres to hoping for an uneventful 3 1/2 months!!!

Happy Anniversary to Jim & Patsy

Today is Jim & Patsy's wedding anniversary!  We are so happy that we were able to join them for a great dinner at Red Lobster and a few pictures.

9 Month Pictures

Here are 9 month highlights.....

10 Months

2 months from today I will be the proud parent of a 1 year old princess!  It amazes me every day how quickly time has passed.  We have had our fair share of ups and downs, but Katelyn is the most amazing kiddo and I am so blessed to have such a great daughter.  16 years from now, I might not feel the same way, but for now, I am loving everything about the princess.  Here are a few pictures from her 10 month birthday.

Daddy's girl

Katelyn loves it when Chris gets home.  She gets so excited to see him.  She is just now starting to crawl over to him when he comes in the door if shes on the floor.  Today, he was making a call, and she sat at his feet just watching him.  It was so cute.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!  Today was Katelyn's first Valentine's Day and I think it was a good one.  She spent the morning with Chris visiting Granny and Grandpa and grocery shopping.  After a good nap, she and I headed to the park to enjoy the awesome weather.  She got to swing (for the first time on her own), slide and play in the mulch and dirt (her favorite part).  She loved it!  Hopefully the weather will start to warm up so we can go play at the part more often and maybe take Haley too.  After Katelyn hit the sack, Chris whipped up some fried shrimp poboys!  They were awesome as usual.  Here are a few pictures from the park and gift opening!

Trying to eat mulch and dirt.  She got mad at me cause I kept taking it away from her.

 What a smile...

She got ahold of some platic bags and was treating them like pom poms....a future cheerleader?  Lets hope not!

Loves the Valentine puppy Granny & Grandpa gave her.

So not microwave proof

So, apparenly our pasta bowls are not microwave proof even though it says so on the bottom of the bowl.  Chris was warming up some Chicken Noodle Soup tonight and the bowl did not do so well.  He only put it in for 2 minutes, but the outcome was not so great!!

Valentines Day

I am so excited about Valentines Day this year.  Not because we have something big planned, but because we are finally all feeling better.  I am also excited because when I got home with Katelyn today, and took everything out of her bag, she had a bag of valentines.  We all opened them together and the last one was from her (thanks to her awesome teachers!).  It has her tiny little hand print in it!  I know, something so simple, but it was so exciting.  Her first art project from school.  I really feel like a mom now!  Its something I will treasure forever!

Not that anything could top that, but something did come close.  I have been wanting to take a photography class for a few years now.  When I got my SLR camera for Christmas in 2008, I found a class, but ended up being unable to go...total bummer.  Well, I am finally getting to take a class.  A local Pearland photographer is having a Basic Photography Class at the end of the month.  I am beyond excited to finally learn a little bit about my cool camera and hope to continue learning so that I can take some great pictures!

Customer Service

Why is it that 9 times out of 10, when you speak with a Customer Service person (with any company) they are rude, unhelpful, and usually have no idea what you are talking about?  I just dont get it.  Shouldn't Customer Service employees be the most some of the most knowledgable people in the company?

Chicken Noodle Soup

Since meeting Chris, I have been trying to expand my horizons when it comes to food.  He eats basically anything and I was very picky.  It made for many long hours trying to decide what to eat.  So, I have made an effort to try new things.  One of things I have never really liked is soup except for Broccoli Cheese.  Well, we have been really into using the crockpot and have discovered McCormick Slow Cooker seasoning packets.  They are wonderful.  Tonight we tried the Chicken Noodle Soup for the first time and it was awsome....even Katelyn liked it!  So easy and so tasty!  Here is the recipe....

Ingredients
1 package McCormick® Slow Cookers Chicken Noodle Soup Seasoning
1-2 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 3/4-inch cubes (we used 1.5lbs and it really could use more!)
2 cups sliced carrots
1 cup sliced celery
1 cup chopped onion
5 cups water
1 cup uncooked medium egg noodles

PLACE chicken and vegetables in slow cooker.
MIX Seasoning and water until blended. Pour over chicken and vegetables. Cover.
COOK 8 hours on LOW. Stir in noodles. Cover. Cook 10 minutes longer on HIGH or until noodles are tender.
Makes 8 servings.

Water bottle

So, my mom thought it would be so fun to introduce Katelyn to a water bottle.  Well, ever since then, she is obsessed with them.  She loves to play with them, drink from them, roll them around, etc.  Tonight she found my water bottle on the table in her room and went zooming over to it.  Let me also include that her regular bottle was right next to the water bottle.  Anyways, she got it and rolled it over to me and wanted a drink.  I gave her one and put the cap back on.  She then proceeded to throw a fit...haha!  So, all we have to say is.....Thanks Bobo!!

Stealing Daddy's glasses

Katelyn has discovered Chris' glasses.  Shes loves to play with them.  The other day Chris was tickling her tummy and she kept trying to steal his glasses.  She eventually got them and thought that was so great, she giggled.

My little helper

I think Katelyn is taking laundry lessons from her Grandmothers!  I was trying to fold and put away laundry the other day and Katelyn decided she needed to help me with the hangers and jeans.  She was so proud of herself.

Mom, look, I'm helping.

So serious...

Something for teething...

Katelyn is working on another tooth I think.  Well, her normal teething rings have not been cutting it, so the other day, I tried an apple.  She LOVED it!  Its cold and hard and she just went to town.  The bad part is that sometimes she chews pieces off and spits them out.  Thank goodness, I have Haley to "vacuum" up all the little pieces she spits out...haha!

Sesame Street

Well, we typically do not let Katelyn watch a bunch of tv, but Sesame Street just happened to be on this past weekend and she was mesmorized by it for just long enough to take a couple of pictures!  It was too cute.  She started dancing to the music and laughing.  Guess we might need to keep that on hand for cranky days.  Notice the cute strawberry PJs!!!  They are too cute for words.

Trying to escape....

Katelyn has been home with Granny (Chris' mom for the past couple of days to help her fully recover from whatever it is that has been making her feel under the weather.  Well today when Granny left, Katelyn stood at the door watching as she left.  It was so cute.

ENT visit

Well Katelyn's ENT does not feel like we need to rush back into putting another tube in her left ear.  Although there is fluid in her ear, its not really infected.  She wants to do a round of ear drop and antibiotics just to make sure it does not develop into an infection, so we go back in 2 weeks to make sure all is good.  Then we will wait 3 months and if everything is ok for 3 months and she passes a hearing test, no tube!!  Lets keep our fingers crossed for that to be the case.

Drama, Drama, Drama

There are some times I feel like its one thing after another in our household.....its crazy!  This week has been no exception.  Chris and I both started feeling under the weather again.  Work is kinda slow, so I have long days.  Well today, Katelyn's school called and one of her tubes fell out!  OMG....she has only had them for a couple of months!  So, we are headed to the ENT tomorrow to see what the plan of attack is.  Right now there seem to be 2 options....1.  Put the tube back in (requires surgery again) or 2.  Hold off and see how she does without the tube.  I am voting for #2, but we will have to see what the ENT recommends tomorrow.  Wish us luck!

Birthday Celebrations and 4 Generations!!

Last weekend was so much fun!  We made a trip to Austin to visit my mom.  My Grandma (Katelyn's Great Grandma) is in town visiting and we didnt want to miss a chance to spend some time with her.  It just so happens that we had 3 birthdays to celebrate as well...my cousin Stephanie (Sweet 16 Jan. 17), my mom, and my Aunt Judy.  We had a big birthday party on Sunday and enjoyed spending time with the family.

Katelyn and her Great Uncles

Chris' Uncle Doug was in town for an unexpected trip and got to meet Katelyn for the first time.  On Friday we went to dinner with Chris' parents, Uncle Doug and Uncle Charles (Chris' other uncle).  After dinner everyone came to the house for some play time with Katelyn.  It was great to see everyone and catch up.

1st Attempt at taking Katelyn's "professional style" pictures at home....

Since we just had family pictures done in Dec., I decided I would try and use my fancy camera to take Katelyn's 9 month pictures.  Not too bad for the first shot at it and waiting until 4pm on a day she wasnt feeling well!  Enjoy....

Loathing the USPS

Let me just tell you, there are no words to express my displeasure with the USPS at the moment.  They have hosed me yet again.  Tried to send a package to my mom on Jan. 5 and she still does not have it.  The only thing they can tell me is that its at the post office which is conveniently closed today and Monday.  So much for 3 day!!  What a frustrating thing to have to deal with on Saturday morning.

Sick yet again...is winter over yet?

During the summer there are some days I wish it was a bit cooler cause its just so darn hot outside.  I think thats going to change.  Winter is hell on a young kiddo and now on me.  Yep...I am sick for the 2nd time this winter and it sucks.  Katelyn decided she was not going to let me have all the fun, so she now has an ear and eye infection.  Crazy!  I am very thankful for the tubes we had put in her ears before Thanksgiving as they are working exactly how they are supposed to and easing the discomfort of the ear infection.  So, it appears we will be spending a majority of the weekend at home recovering.  Total bummer!

I'm back....

I am back to blogging...well attempting to at least thanks to the encouragement of a friend.  I have been away since before Katelyn was born, but now I think its time to get back into it.  Hopefully this will help everyone keep up with whats going on in the LeBlanc family.

Baby Shower this weekend...

I am so excited about this weekend. Saturday is my baby shower...well Katelyn's baby shower! There are so many people coming in for the event. I feel very blessed to have all the love and support I do.

Chris is looking forward to getting back in the racecar this weekend. Yep thats right, hes skipping out (with my blessing and permission!) on the shower to attend Test and Tune at Houston Raceway Park. Hopefully they will learn alot about the new motor and rear end.

Stay tuned for pictures from the festivities!

Katelyn's Room...in progress!

Well, we finally got the nursery painted! No big shock that the walls are yellow! Its so cute and it doesn't even have furniture yet. Here are some pictures of the room in progress.
